Client Applied Program

Flexible cleaning solutions for in-situ applications.

Our CAP certification offers the flexibility to clean equipment in place on a routine maintenance schedule

Reliable & cost effective

CAP allows facilities to train and certify their employees on in-situ performance improving cleaning applications. Equipment can be returned to service immediately after the application.

Flexible Maintenance

RTI’s CAP certification gives the flexibility to safely and effectively hydrocarbon free equipment in place for efficiency improvement or maintenance activities.

Predictable Results

Upon completion of the certification, facilities operations teams are empowered with training, knowledge, equipment, and chemistry necessary to successfully execute both liquid phase and vapor phase applications for minor maintenance and performance improvement.

CAP Cleaning Applications

Heat Exchangers/ Fin Fans

The perfect combination of superior chemistry and calculated strategy will restore and maintain a higher overall duty for heat exchangers. Hydrocarbon fouling can cause fin fans to lose efficiency and negatively impact outlet temperatures. Injecting Super Q® with steam into each bank of fin fans will remove any fouling that is present.

Pumps

Decreased performance in pumps is a product of impellers fouling with heavy hydrocarbons. This fouling creates excessive pump vibrations, requiring the equipment to be put out of service and rebuilt. Utilizing CAP, pumps can be monitored for vibration and cleaned with Super Q® in place before vibrations negatively impact performance.

Piping/valves/ Small Vessels

Super Q® can clear piping, valves, and small vessels of all hydrocarbons (benzene, H2S, LEL) so hot work, inspection, or cutting can begin. Super Q® is the perfect solution for small maintenance applications.

compressors

Compressors can begin to lose efficiency and performance overtime as rotors foul with waxes, gums, and heavy hydrocarbon material from process streams.  Rotor fouling can cause high vibrations and premature failures. Utilizing the Vaporganic® cleaning process, compressor vibrations can be monitored and cleaned with Super X to restore normal performance, or expedite clearing for overhauls.

How We Do It

SUPER Q

Since detergents and other water-based cleaners can often emulsify foulants, it’s better to use hydrocarbon-based solvents because they lower the viscosity of the fouling material so that it can be easily removed from your equipment. Super Q® is our patented, full organic hydrocarbon formulation. Super Q® is easy to apply, safe for the environment, exhibits excellent metallurgy properties, and will not contaminate refinery products.

UPPERCUT

When you need to dissolve hydrocarbons and petroleum sludge from your process equipment or storage tanks, you need Uppercut® on your side. Owing to Uppercut®’s unique molecular affinity towards cleaning up stubborn waste deposits, adding it to cutter stock (LCO, diesel, etc.) will knock out 50% more hydrocarbon deposits and make for faster, better cleaning. Uppercut®’s blended solution removes significantly more contaminants in a single circulation than traditional cleaning methods that require multiple circulations.

PETROBLAST

Finding a solvent that quickly dissolves heavy oils, resid, slurry, bitumen, and more is not always easy. RTI’s effective solvent, PetroBlast®, drastically improves the way your maintenance and operations personnel clean equipment and unit areas. PetroBlast®’s unique formulation will dissolve the toughest contaminants and outlast other industrial solvents.

SX

Significantly reduce your N2 usage and shorten purging durations for various types of equipment – separators, compressors, compressor knock-out drums, piping circuits, and more. Super X is a pure hydrocarbon blend that has no aqueous components in its formulation. In remote locations like gas plants and offshore platforms where steam and/or heated N2 is not available, adding Super X to plant N2 when degassing vessels is an effective solution.

SX

Crush is a water-based light degassing chemistry formulation developed and owned by RTI. This chemistry is a low-cost solution effective for removing H2S, Iron Sulfide, Mercaptan, Sulfur Compounds, Amine, Light Hydrocarbon, and other compounds in light-service processing equipment.

SX

CL Treat is a formulation used to prevent chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking on 300 series stainless steel and other certain alloys. This is supplied in totes and is designed to be mixed in ratio with low chloride water to treat piping and equipment.

SX

PTA Treat is a formulation that is designed to prevent polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking on 300 series stainless steel and other certain alloys. This is supplied in totes and is designed to be mixed in ratio with low chloride water to treat piping and equipment.

SX

pH Treat is a concentrated formula that neutralizes high pH material when circulated to a pH of 7–9. pH Treat does not require premixing and can be injected directly into the circulation process. pH Treat is designed for use on Amine and Caustic services.
